This has a rich and inviting nose of dark cherries, raspberries and spice, balanced with herbal notes. On the palate, fine, firm tannins are beautifully woven through. It is the "big guy", but very pure, long, spicy, very elegant with refined tannins, and with red-berries; it’s not overripe!”, he says.

For the 2023 David used 20% whole-bunch and 20% new oak because the fruit could carry the extra structure. The fruit shows its "high on the hill freshness and energy" well and the red fruit intensity and richness of the wine are impressive. I wanted to take the sample bottle home for dinner!
